If you’re familiar with the popular board game, Star Wars: X-Wing, then you may already know of Cosmic Encounter. It was originally released as an expansion for Star Wars, but it became its own stand-alone game when Fantasy Flight Games acquired the rights to it in 2015.
One thing that has remained consistent between Cosmic Encounter and X-Wing is the epic battles that ensue as players collect alien allies and attack planets.
With up to six players in each game, there’s plenty of space to explore if you have time on your hands!
Can this game be played with 2 people?
You can play the game with two people. How do you do that? Well, there are a few ways:
Play it by yourself! This is probably your best option if playing with someone else isn’t an option for whatever reason (like they’re busy).
Play against each other! The classic way to play this game is one player against another player, but don’t limit yourself here—you could also try playing in teams or even just sitting down together and talking about cosmic encounters!
Is this game like a Civilization or Risk Board Game?
Cosmic Encounter is not a Civilization game. It’s not Risk, either. Cosmic Encounter is a game of negotiation and conflict, where you are trying to out-maneuver your opponents by bluffing and deceiving them into making mistakes (or just taking advantage of their weaknesses).
Cosmic Encounter is also very much a game of chance—you never know what cards will come up next in the deck or how they’ll affect the outcome—but it’s also very much about strategy: knowing which cards to keep in your hand at any given time so as not only to maximize your rewards from each hand.
But also considering how long it might take before another round begins after everyone has played all their cards out; what order other players would prefer for dealing with certain threats; whether there are certain actions that should always be taken first if possible (such as moving across space); etcetera…
How does Cosmic Encounter compare to Twilight Imperium?
Both games are card games, but Cosmic Encounter is a much simpler game to learn and play. The rules for Twilight Imperium are long and complicated, with many different options for players to choose from.
Cosmic Encounter has only one type of card: action cards that allow you to perform special actions during the game. The board in Cosmic Encounter consists of nine planets that orbit around a sun at center stage; each planet has its own health points (HP), which represent how much damage it can take before dying.
Players use these HP points as currency when purchasing new ships or weapons during their turn, allowing them to build more powerful fleets over time!
Twilight Imperium also has an expansion pack called “The Gathering Storm,” which adds more territory types—such as asteroids—and new gameplay elements like weather effects that affect movement speed along with other things like ship movement restrictions depending on whether or not they’re currently flying into space lanes while being attacked by alien forces surrounding them!”
Do you need the expansions to make this game good?

These are all great games that you can play with 2 or 3 people, depending on how many expansions you want to buy. They’re all fairly easy to learn and play, but they’re also very strategic in nature because you need to think about your opponents’ actions meanwhile trying not to lose yourself thinking about them too much (or just be distracted by them).
These types of games tend to be more cerebral than their counterparts: Ticket To Ride is an excellent example of this sort of game because there are so many different routes through different cities around the world!
